Diesel imports increases in Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept.24

Diesel imports increased while the import of petrol decreased in Georgia in 8 months of 2020, Trend reports via the Union of Oil Product Importers of Georgia.

The union revealed that, in 2020, imports of diesel fuel in Georgia increased by 50,600 tons, or 15.4 percent, compared to last year, while gasoline imports decreased by 11,300 tons or 3.2 percent.

The import of gasoline and diesel fuel this year, compared to 2019, increased by 39,300 tons, or 5.8 percent.

In January-August of 2020, the largest volume of gasoline and diesel fuel imports to Georgia was from the following countries: Russia - 32.8 percent; Azerbaijan (diesel fuel only) - 20.5 percent; Romania - 18.8 percent; Turkmenistan - 8.7 percent; Bulgaria - 8.6 percent; Greece - 4.1 percent.
