BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 27

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The extraction from fields under control of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) increased by 29,000 barrels per day during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), said Ali Khajavi, the Director of Technical Affairs at IOOC, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.

According to Khajavi, in this regard, the operations were carried out at 34 wells in 6 months. Thus, 4 wells were re-drilled, 26 wells were repaired, and safety work was completed at 4 wells.

The director added that according to the plan, 2 re-drilling, 20 repairs and 7 safety operations were planned to be carried out at 29 wells in the fields under the control of the company.

Khajavi noted that at the same time, the company’s service life from drilling rigs decreased by 30 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, the using period of the rigs is currently 35 days.

"Taking into account the average rent for offshore drilling rigs for six months, the company has saved about 1.5 million euro in drilling operations," he said.
