The gas consumption in housing and commercial facilities in Iran increased by 40 million cubic meters due to the cooling of the air temperature yesterday on Oct. 9, Caretaker of the Dispatching Department of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mohammad Reza Joulaei said , Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Joulaei said that thus, gas consumption in housing and commercial facilities in Iran reached 240 million cubic meters yesterday.

However, this figure was 200 million cubic meters the previous day, he added.

The official noted that at present, daily 80 million cubic meters of gas is supplied to thermal power plants.

"Iran's gas exports to neighboring countries continue. In this regard, minor repairs are being carried out in the pipeline to transport gas to Turkey, and gas supply to Turkey will be resumed at the end of today," Joulaei stressed.

Iran consumed a total of about 105 billion cubic meters of gas during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020). Of this volume, 39.6 billion cubic meters were consumed in Iran's housing, commercial and small industrial facilities during the reporting period. At the same time, 23.8 billion cubic meters of it were consumed in Iran’s large industrial facilities and 41.3 billion cubic meters at Iran's thermal power plants.
