Georgia’s oil bitumen imports in September 2020 marked 17,600 tons, up 2,000 tons (+12.8 percent) as compared to the August indicators (15,600 tons) and down 2,400 tons (-12 percent) compared to the same period of 2019 (20,000 tons), Trend reports citing Union of Petroleum Importers of Georgia.
Including, 10,200 tons were exported from Azerbaijan (57.9 percent), Iraq – 5,900 tons (33.5 percent), Turkey – 1,300 tons (7.4 percent) and Albania - 0.200 tons (1.1 percent).
In January-September period, oil bitumen imports constituted 90,500 tons, down 40,000 tons (-30.6 percent) compared to the same period of 2019 (130,500 tons). Including, 54,100 tons were imported from Azerbaijan (59.8 percent), Iraq – 22,200 tons (24.5 percent), Iran – 7,600 tons (8.4 percent), Russia – 3,200 tons (3.5 percent), Turkey – 2,100 tons (2.3 percent) and United Arab Emirates (UAE) – 0,200 tons (0.2 percent).
As for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), Georgia’s imports in September marked 1,600 tons, down 2,400 tons (-60 percent) compared to August 2020 (4,000 tons) and down 2,100 tons (-57.6 percent) compared to September 2019 (3,700 tons). Of including, 87.5 percent of imports were carried out from the Russian Federation.
As for the January-September period, LPG imports constituted 30,200 tons, up 3,900 tons (up 14.8 percent) compared to the same period of 2019 (26,300 tons), including 93.7 percent was imported from Russian Federation.
