Volume of gas pumped into Sarajeh gas storage facility in Iran soars

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 21

The volume of gas pumped into the Sarajeh gas storage facility increased by 16.8 percent during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 20-October 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Executive Director of Iranian Gas Transmission Company, Mehdi Jamshidi Dana said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Jamshidi Dana emphasized that thus, 1.25 billion cubic meters of gas was pumped into Sarajeh gas storage facility during the reporting period.

The director added that the rising temperatures in recent years have reduced the activities of gas turbines and the pumping of gas into storage facilities for reserve.

However, the activities of gas turbines have increased by about 30 percent with carrying out of some changes in the systems.

A total of 2.31 billion cubic meters of gas was pumped into the Shourijeh D gas storage facility in the Razavi Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) and the Sarajeh gas storage facility in the Qom Province in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019-March 20, 2020).
