Georgia sees increase in import of lubricants

In October 2020, the import of lubricants to Georgia amounted to 1,660 tons, which is 580 tons or 25.9 percent less than in September (2,240 tons), the Union of Oil Product Importers of Georgia told Trend.

This indicator is 90 tons or 5.1 percent less compared to the same period last year (1,750 tons).

Turkey is the leader in the import of lubricants in October, of which the volume of imported products amounted to 470 tons, accounting for 28.3 percent of total imports. Russia is in second place with 290 tons (17.5 percent), in third place is Germany with 190 tons (11.4 percent). Import of lubricants from the Netherlands amounted to 90 tons (5.4 percent).

According to the union, from January through October, the import of lubricants amounted to 15,450 tons, which is 970 tons or 5.9 percent less than in the same period last year (16,420 tons).

From January through October, the largest volume of lubricants was imported from Turkey - 4,660 tons, which is 30.2 percent of total imports. This follows by Russia - 2,450 tons (15.8 percent), Germany - 1,380 tons (8.9 percent), Iran - 970 tons (6.3 percent), etc.
