Production of petroleum, chemical industry products down in Kazakhstan

Volume of oil extraction in Kazakhstan amounted to 71.6 million tons during first ten months of 2020, which is 4.3 percent less than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Industrial manufacturing in the country decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the same period of 2019.

Thus, manufacturing of copper ore amounted to 90.6 million tons, which is 11.5 percent less compared to the reporting months of 2019. Manufacturing of petrol amounted to 3.7 million tons (increase by 0.7 percent).

Manufacturing of Portland cement was 9.4 million tons, which is 7.5 percent more than during the same period of 2019. Manufacturing of flat metal was 2.1 million tons (increase by 20.2 percent), of gasoil to 3.9 million tons (decrease by 7.7 percent), of electricity to 87.5 billion kWh (increase by 1.6 percent).

“The production of crude oil, natural gas and the production of metal ores decreased during the reporting period of 2020 as compared to the same period of 2019. The production volume of food, beverages, wood items, pharmaceuticals and mechanical engineering increased, whereas production of petroleum products and products of chemical industry decreased,” the committee said.
