The projected gas production in Azerbaijan will be about 50 billion cubic meters In 2024, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy.
Shahbazov made the remark at a round table on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on world gas markets.
According to the minister, gas production for 2020 was projected at 38 billion cubic meters.
“It is expected that the annual production at the Shah Deniz field, which is a source of resources of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), will reach 19 billion this year, and in 2024 it will reach 27 billion cubic meters, an increase of 42 percent,” the minister stressed.
During the round table, Shahbazov stressed that the energy projects sponsored by Azerbaijan have changed the energy map of the region and Europe.
“Our main goal is to contribute to global development, ensuring energy security and achieving close cooperation between producing countries, transit countries and consumer countries in this process,” Shahbazov said.
Revenues from the sale of gas and condensate produced at the Shah Deniz field from January 1 to November 1, 2020 amounted to $276 million.
At the same time, revenues from the sale of condensate produced at the Shah Deniz field from January 1 to November 1, 2020, and amounted to $205 million.
From the moment of commissioning until October 1, 130.1 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from the Shah Deniz field.
