Ukraine can purchase gas from the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) through the Trans-Balkan gas corridor, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine told Trend.
"For Ukraine, the project provides an opportunity to reverse the transportation of Azerbaijani natural gas through the gas transportation systems of Bulgaria and Romania to Ukraine," the ministry said.
TANAP is a project of the Southern Gas Corridor, the purpose of which is to provide the EU with natural gas, says the message.
"The planned capacity of the gas pipeline is 16 billion m3 / year at the initial stage and will be increased later to 23 billion m3 by 2023, 31 billion m3 by 2026, and at the final stage 60 billion m3," the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine added.
At the same time, the Ministry of Energy is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in the oil and gas sector, as part of the activation of cooperation in the organization of supplies of Azerbaijani oil to Ukrainian refineries.
