Azerbaijan produced over 20 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity at thermal power plants (TPPs) from January through October 2020, which is 315.2 million kilowatt-hours more compared to the same period of 2019, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy told Trend.
During the reporting period, 82.8 million kilowatt-hours were produced at wind power plants, 42.4 million kilowatt-hours at solar power plants, and 166 million kilowatt-hours of electricity at a municipal solid waste incineration plant, the ministry said.
The volume of industrial production in Azerbaijan from January through October 2020 amounted to 30.7 billion manat ($18 billion), which is 4.5 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
The growth of industrial production in the non-oil sector during the reporting period amounted to 11.5 percent, while the oil sector declined by 6.1 percent. In 10M2020, 60.3 percent of production accounted for the mining industry, 33.6 percent for the processing industry, 5.2 percent for the production and distribution of electricity, gas, and steam, and 0.9 percent for the water supply sector cleaning and recycling of waste.
