The energy management system ISO 50001 is gradually being introduced at the enterprises of Uzbekneftegaz, Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
ISO 50001 is an international standard created by the International Organization for Standardization for the management of energy systems that defines the requirements for the installation, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of an energy management system, the purpose of which is to allow an organization to follow a systems approach in achieving consistent energy system improvement, including energy efficiency, energy security, and energy consumption.
The standard is based on a management system model for continual improvement. It is used in conjunction with other well-known standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001, which allows organizations to integrate energy management into their overall quality and environmental improvement efforts.
Uzbekneftegaz JSC has developed and approved a network schedule for the implementation of an energy management system in accordance with the requirements of the international standard (ISO 50001) according to the roadmap of the decree of the President of Uzbekistan "On accelerated measures to improve the energy efficiency of economic and social sectors, the introduction of energy-saving technologies and the development of renewable energy sources".
Currently, stage-by-stage work is underway to introduce an energy management system in accordance with the requirements of the international standard (ISO 50001) at the enterprises of Uzbekneftegaz JSC such as Mubarek Oil and Gas Production Department, Mubarek Gas Processing Plant, Gazli Oil, and Gas Production Department, Ustyurt Gas Processing Department and JV Uz-Kor Gas Chemical LLC.
