Kazakhstan's Senate (upper house) of the Parliament has approved the "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of Kazakhstan on the support of the use of renewable energy sources and electric power" law draft, Trend reports citing the press office of the Senate.

With the adoption of the document, the country's renewable energy sector will receive significant support, the country's energy dependence on external sources will be reduced, which will have a positive effect on local consumers since the electricity will become cheaper.
