Russian Tatneft eyeing butadiene production in co-op with Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas National Company and Russian’s Tatneft sing several documents, including an action plan for cooperation between companies, Trend reports citing KazMunayGas (KMG).

The documents were signed on Nov.25, 2020 following an online meeting between Member of the KMG’s Board of Directors Alik Aidarbayev and CEO of Tatneft Nail Maganov.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation in the development of oil and gas chemical projects.

Thus, Tatneft has expressed interest in projects at Kazakhstan’s National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark in Atyrau region, including in production of butadiene and its derivatives.

Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas national company (KMG) and Russian’s Tatneft agreed on introduction of Tatneft’s best practices in oil and gas sector of Kazakhstan in Nov. 2019.

The corresponding roadmap was agreed upon by the Chairman of the Management Board of KMG Alik Aidarbayev and the General Director of Tatneft Nail Maganov. The deadline of implementation of the activities within the roadmap is 2020.

KazMunayGas National Company is Kazakhstan's national operator for exploration, production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the state in Kazakhstan's petroleum sector.
