Solar panel power plant launched in Iran's Fars Province

A 1-megawatt hour solar panel power plant has been launched in the Shiraz County of Fars Province (southern Iran), Deputy Director of Shiraz Electricity Distribution Company on trade issues Alireza Khajeh said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.

The deputy director said that the electricity generated at power plant is transmitted to the Iranian electricity network through substation No. 403.

He added that so far, 6 alternative renewable power plants with the generation capacity of 11 megawatt-hours of electricity have been launched in the Shiraz County of Iran's Fars Province.

Khajeh noted that furthermore, 200 solar panel stations with the total generation capacity of 1,600 kilowatts of electricity were launched in Shiraz County. At the same time, 100 solar panel stations will be launched soon.

The deputy director emphasized that it is planned to take necessary steps for establishment of solar, wind turbine, small hydro and biogas power plants in the Shiraz County. The opportunities of the private sector will be used in this direction.
