World crude and non-conventional oil imports up

World crude and non-conventional oil imports stood at 46,593,000 barrels per day in 2019, as compared to 47,016,000 barrels per day in 2018, Trend reports with reference to Eni’s World Oil Review.

The world’s top 10 oil importers as of 2019 are China with 10,142,000 bpd, followed by the United States with 6,788,000 bpd, India with 4,579,000 bpd, Japan with 2,953,000 bpd, South Korea with 2,896,000 bpd, Germany with 1,721,000 bpd, Spain with 1,326,000 bpd, Italy with 1,263,000 bpd, Netherlands with 1,142,000 bpd and Singapore with 1,049,000 bpd.

World crude and non-conventional oil imports stood at 39,231,000 bpd in 2000, rising to 43,752,000 bpd in 2005 and nosediving to 42,928,000 bpd in 2010.

The oil imports recovered again in 2015, reaching 43,253,000 bpd and continued the upward trend with 44,909,000 bpd in 2016, 46,654,000 bpd in 2017, 47,016,000 bpd in 2018 and dropping to 46,593,000 bpd in 2019.

World oil consumption stood at 99,996,000 bpd in 2019, as compared to 99,151,000 bpd in 2018.

Top 10 world oil consumers as of 2019 are the US with 20,794,000 barrels per day, followed by China with 13,657,000 barrels per day in 2019, India with 5000,000 barrels per day, Japan with 3,673,000 barrels per day, Russia with 3,551,000 barrels per day, Saudi Arabia with 3,148,000 barrels per day, Brazil with 3,103,000 barrels per day, South Korea with 2,591,000 barrels per day, Canada with 2,502,000 barrels per day and Germany with 2,379,000 barrels per day.
