The German Energy Agency supports the development of concepts for the energy-efficient refurbishment of multi-family housing in Uzbekistan, the representative of the German Energy Agency (Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH - dena) told Trend.

The Agency began its work on the project of the German Government to expand the already existing energy cooperation with some countries of Central Asia and Eastern Europe, Turkey, and Iran starting from May 2020.

“Uzbekistan is one of the countries with which we are actively working in Central Asia,” the agency noted.

According to the information, the activities of the German Energy Agency are aimed at political advice on the development of the energy market in certain sectors, as well as support in capacity building/competence development.

The agency also assists in the formation of legal conditions for the development of the energy market.

"Political consultations on the integration of renewable energy sources into the energy system are underway in Uzbekistan with our participation," the agency representative said.

In addition, bilateral working consultations are underway at the government level on other areas in the energy sector.

The founders of the German Energy Agency are the Federal Republic of Germany, the state-owned banking group KfW, Allianz SE, Deutsche Bank AG, and DZ BANK AG.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan plans to study the positive experience of Germany in the development of renewable energy sources and storage of electricity to further stabilize the electricity industry in the country.
