BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 6

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

About 570 trillion rials (about $13.6 billion) from the exports of ethane and LPG of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) can be allocated to the government's treasury and the National Development Fund of Iran in next year's budget (March 21, 2021, to March 21, 2022), the spokesman of the Energy Commission of the Iranian parliament Malek Shariati told Fars news agency, Trend reports.

According to Shariati, the revenues of the National Iranian Gas Company from ethane and LPG exports will amount to about 670 trillion rials (about $16 billion) in the next Iranian year.

Shariati added that about 14.5 percent of those exports, ie 100 trillion rials (about $238 million), can be allocated to the Iranian Oil Ministry. In this way, the Iranian government's budget deficit can be helped to some extent.

The official noted that according to law, the share of the Iranian Ministry of Oil and its subsidiaries in the export of methane, gas condensate, and crude oil accounts for 14.5 percent.

“The National Iranian Gas Company earned about 300 trillion rials (about $7.14 billion) worth of revenues from LPG exports in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019, through March 20, 2020),” he said.

The spokesman stressed that of that amount, $100 trillion (about $2.38 billion) have been allocated to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and $200 trillion (about $4.76 billion) to the National Iranian Gas Company.

The Iranian government's budget projections for the next Iranian year was submitted to parliament on December 2. According to the budget project, next year's budget will total about 24.4 quadrillion rials (about $580 billion).
