By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

In 2020, OeEB, the Development Bank of Austria signed $20 million in new commitments to financial institutions in Georgia, the OeEB told Trend.

"In addition, around 6 percent of OeEB’s total capital committed in private equity is invested in Georgia via three funds: SEAF, DWM, and Caucasus Clean Energy. The Caucasus Clean Energy Fund is currently invested exclusively in Georgia," the OeEB said.

As the bank noted, currently, two of OeEB’s projects (ProCredit Bank and Bank of Georgia) contribute to financing renewable energy and energy efficiency measures in Georgia.

At the moment, there are no additional projects planned in the renewable energy sector in Georgia, said the source.

"There are currently two new transactions of $10 million each planned in the financial sector for 2021," the OeEB added.

The OeEB finances investments of private companies in developing countries and emerging markets. It provides loans at near-market conditions, provides capital, and increases the developmental effectiveness of its projects with related programs.
