Azerbaijan produced 24.4 billion kWh of electricity at thermal power plants (TPPs) in 2020, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy told Trend.
Electricity production increased by 12.4 percent compared to the same period of 2019.
"During the reporting period, 1.06 billion kWh of electricity were produced at wind power plants, 46.9 million kWh - at solar power plants, 200.6 million kWh of electricity - at a municipal solid waste incineration plant," the ministry said.
In 2019, power plants in Azerbaijan generated 24.2 billion kWh of electricity, which is 4.3 percent more than in 2018.
