Georgia reveals volume of electricity imported from Azerbaijan

In 2020, Georgia imported 726.3 million kWh of electricity from Azerbaijan, Trend reports via Georgia's Commercial Operator of the Electricity System (ESCO).

According to the document, last year the import of Azerbaijani electricity to Georgia decreased by 34 percent.

Electricity imported by Georgia last year amounted to 1.61 billion kWh. 45.1 percent of year-round purchases fall on Azerbaijan.

The report states that in 2020, the volume of transit of electricity from Azerbaijan to Turkey through Georgia amounted to 101.8 million kWh, which is 25.2 percent less than the transit volume in 2019.

Georgia imported 575 million kWh of electricity from Azerbaijan from January through November of this year.

Georgia imported 926.86 million kilowatt-hours of electricity within nine months of 2020.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan supplied 450.184 million kilowatt-hours to Georgia. The volume of electricity exports from Azerbaijan to Georgia decreased by 370.686 million kilowatt-hours or 45 percent per year.
