The construction of a small solar power plant on the territory of Nurli Zamin settlement of Yukori-Chirchik district in Tashkent region has begun, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

According to the information, the capacity of the new small solar power plant will amount to 40 kW.

It is reported that the project is being implemented by the joint-stock company National Power Grids of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan through grant support from the Korean Energy Agency (KEA).

It is noted that the construction of such facilities is a significant contribution at the beginning of the path for the large-scale introduction of energy-saving technologies, as well as renewable energy sources in Uzbekistan.

Earlier, the Ministry of Energy promised to build nine power plants, two of which will run on solar energy. It is expected that the capacity of these power plants will amount to 100 megawatts.

Founded in 1980, Korea Energy Agency (KEA) has been at the forefront of efficient and rational energy use in South Korea, as a silent guardian of South Korea’s sound economic development and better quality of life.

KEA is a governmental agency that carries out national energy policies for energy efficiency improvement, new and renewable energy dissemination, and climate change mitigation for smart and efficient demand-side management based on Energy Use Rationalization Act.
