Turkmenistan’s Turkmengeology State Corporation carries out geophysical research, including seismic – 2D and 3D methods on areas promising for oil, gas and gas condensate, said Chairman of Turkmengeology Merdan Rozyev, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.
Rozyev made this remark during a working meeting held by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The exploration wells are being drilled in the fields and areas identified during the re-analysis of the available data.
The head of state instructed to increase the pace of geological exploration, especially on the search and identification of oil deposits, the discovery of new oil and gas fields, says the report.
The Turkmen president gave specific instructions to the state corporation, noting that the introduction of innovative methods based on modern high technologies into the activities of the state corporation will contribute to a significant increase in the efficiency of the industry.
Turkmenistan is investing heavily in the modernization and diversification of the oil and gas industry, the widespread introduction of advanced technologies that ensure deep processing of hydrocarbons, and the equipping of enterprises with modern equipment.
At the same time, the use of innovative technologies in the oil and gas industry allows for the manufacture of high-quality petroleum products and gas chemical products with improved environmental characteristics that meet international norms and standards and reduce the level of harmful emissions into the environment.
The range of measures implemented in the oil and gas sector also includes the use of modern methods for controlling the number of pollutants released, automatic systems for detecting leaks and omissions on main oil and gas pipelines, in gas distribution networks, efficient utilization of associated gases in oil fields and production waste, and others.
Such projects of Turkmenistan as The Kiyanly Gas Chemical Complex and the plant for the production of synthetic gasoline from natural gas in the Akhal region, new technological installations of The Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries are recognized as highly effective by international experts.
The country is also developing a national strategy for the development of renewable energy.
