Expansion of outdoor switchgear completed on Turkmenistan's power plant

The expansion of the open switchgear – the starting point of the project for the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan power transmission line-has been completed at the Mary State Power Plant of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age" electronic newspaper.

Of the 876 poles that need to be installed on the power line, about 600 are ready. The 220-110-10 kV substation under construction in Serhetabat will be the receiving point of the Mary State Power Plant.

In the Turkmen part of the project, tele-control communication systems are being installed. The commissioning of this project will allow Turkmenistan to increase the export of electricity to Afghanistan.

The launch of the facility is scheduled for August this year. Further plans of the country's power engineers are to build a 500 kV Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan line parallel to this power line.

Turkmenistan is taking large-scale, long-term measures to develop the economy and restore the social sphere of Afghanistan.

The witness of the cooperation is the construction of the gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), laying of transmission lines and fiber-optic communication along the route Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) electricity supply to Afghanistan on favorable terms, laying of steel pipelines from Turkmenistan to the Afghan side, the humanitarian assistance to the people Afghanistan in education and health.
