Russian Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation is ready to implement the project for construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan, Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alexey Borodavkin said, Trend reports citing Russian media.
Borodavkin noted that Kazakhstan just all countries around the world is in the need for clean energy.
“One of the most effective solutions in this area is nuclear power plants (NPPs). Taking into account the projected shortage of electricity, the construction of a nuclear power plant is becoming a particularly relevant topic for Kazakhstan. Rosatom is ready to take on this project, guaranteeing the plant's safety and environmental friendliness,” the ambassador said.
He emphasized that the most modern technologies used at Russian NPPs ensure that there are no risks both during construction and during the operation of these facilities.
“Moreover, in addition to clean electricity, the NPP project will give impetus to many sectors of the Kazakh economy, create jobs and improve the quality of higher education in nuclear physics,” the ambassador said.
