A gas pipeline is being laid from Arslan and Kuyi Surgil fields to Arslan complex gas treatment facility (operated by Ustyurt gas production department of Uzbekneftegaz), Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

Currently, the II stage of the program developed on the basis of the decree of the president of Uzbekistan on approval of the program for increasing hydrocarbon production for 2017-2021 is being implemented.

It is reported that the program provides for an increase in the amount of natural gas produced by the Ustyurt Gas Production Department and ensuring the stable operation of the gas transmission system.

According to the Hydrocarbon Production Department, the program is implementing a project to expand the gas pipeline from gas collection points at the Arslan and Kuyi Surgil fields to the Arslan complex gas treatment unit.

Uzbekneftegaz reports that the construction and installation work has begun on gas pipelines with a diameter of 426 millimeters, a length of 3.6 kilometers and 4.7 kilometers from gas gathering points of the Arslan and Kuyi Surgil fields.

It is noted that as a result of the expansion of the pipeline in 2021, Uzbekneftegaz JSC will ensure a stable transfer of the produced gas from the planned gas wells to the integrated treatment facilities and will achieve additional natural gas production.

The Arslan and Kuyi Surgil fields, belonging to the Ustyurt gas production department, are located in the Muynak district of the Karakalpakstan Republic. The Arslan field was discovered in 2015, while the Kuyi Surgil field was discovered in 2018.
