Azerbaijan exported over 2.15 million tons of crude oil worth 719.1 million to Italy in January 2021, Trend reports on Feb.22 referring to the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the bulletin, in the reporting month, the total volume of Azerbaijan’s oil export was more than 4 million tons, up by 0.7 percent over the year, while the total export value – over $1.3 billion (30 percent decrease compared to January last year). The share of Italy in the exports of Azerbaijan amounted to 53.6 percent.
Meanwhile, trade turnover between the two countries made up $743.9 million, the expenses of Azerbaijan for export to Italy - $722.5 million, and for importing Italian products – over $21.3 million, said the bulletin.
Azerbaijan's expenses on imports from Italy grew by 7.3 percent in 2020 compared to 2019.
Besides, exports from Azerbaijan to Italy made up $4.17 billion, which is 25 percent less than in the previous year.
The volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Italy amounted to over $4.5 billion, an annual decrease of 24 percent.
