Iran's Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company fulfills its production plan

The Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company in the Petrochemical Economic Special Zone in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) fulfilled its production plan by 100 percent during 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to the report, the company produced more than 1 million tons of polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

“While during the 11th month (January 20 through February 18, 2021), the company produced about 104,000 tons of PET products,” the report said.

Thus, the company is expected to break a new record in PET production in the the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021). The Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company produced about 1.08 million tons of products in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020), the report said.

The company launched its activity in 1998 and it operates in Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in Khuzestan Province on an area covering 34 hectares. The Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company produces PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) products.

The company produces more than 1.6 million tons of products a year, and the value of the company's annual production is estimated at more than $800 million. The company operates under the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry Company of Iran.
