Turkey decreases crude oil imports from Kazakhstan month-on-month

Turkey has imported a total of 275,975 tons of crude oil in December 2020, which accounted for 9.76 percent of total Turkey’s crude oil imports, Trend reports citing Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

Overall Turkey’s import of crude oil from Kazakhstan from Jan. through Dec. 2020 amounted to 3.3 million tons.

Thus, Turkey’s import of Kazakh crude oil decreased by 33.2 percent compared to Jan. 2020 (413,547 tons), and by 46.7 percent compared to the volume imported in Nov. 2020 (518,088 tons).

The value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey amounted to $3.07 billion in 2020, compared to $3.2 billion during 2019.

Kazakhstan’s export to Turkey amounted to $2.1 billion over the period from January through Dec. 2020, compared to $2.4 billion during the same period of 2019.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s imports from Turkey amounted to nearly $939.5 million over the reporting period, compared to $817.1 million during the same period of 2019.
