The drilling of well No. 20 has been initiated as part of a plan on the maintain and development of the Zilayi oil field in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran), Trend reports citing the National Iranian South Oil Company’s website.
According to the report, Iran's Global Petro Tech Kish Company has started drilling work in the Zilayi oil field as a contractor company.
“In addition, the preparations are underway to start drilling in well No. 21 of the field,” the report said.
Nine wells will be drilled in the Zilayi field as part of a plan to maintain and increase extraction, the report said.
The Zilayi oil field is located in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran). About 19,000 barrels of crude oil are currently extracted from the field per day. The field is operated by the Masjed Soleyman Oil and Gas Production Company, which is the subsidiary of the NISOC.
