Iran implements plan to maintain, increase extraction from several oil fields

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Mar. 8

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

Iran is implementing a plan to maintain and increase extraction from the Cheshmeh Khosh, Dalpari and East Paydar oil fields, Trend reports citing the National Iranian Oil Company’s website.

According to the report, about 93.4 million barrels of crude oil were to be extracted from these fields over 10 years. Two years ago, a project on the development of these three fields was implemented. As a result of researches under the project, the volume of oil to be extracted increased to about 172 million barrels.

"As a result of these researches, extraction from the Cheshmeh Khosh field increased from 82,000 barrels to 95,000 barrels, while the East Paydar field from 9,200 barrels to 10,800 barrels," the report said.

The crude oil extraction from the Dalpari oil field is relatively low. So far, about 57.3 million barrels of crude oil out of 161 million barrels have been extracted from this field. In short, it is not recommended to inject gas for the extraction of the remaining amount, the report said.

These three Iranian oil fields are located in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran).
