The joint venture of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and the US-based KBR company has almost completed the detailed engineering for the Azeri-Central-East (ACE) platform, Ibrahim Ahmadov, deputy head of the public relations and events department at SOCAR told Trend.
He recalled that SOCAR-KBR was awarded a contract for installation of a new platform (ACE) at a sea depth of 140 meters between Central Azeri and East Azeri platforms, as well as for construction of an underwater pipeline, for laying a water injection pipeline between ACE and East Azeri platforms and engineering and design works.
“The works under the contract commenced in 2017 by SOCAR-KBR’s UK-based Leatherhead company and engineering offices in Baku. Detailed engineering phase of the project is almost complete. From now on, the company will control the production of materials and equipment for the project, upgrading the documents accordingly, responding to technical enquiries and will continue providing necessary engineering support until 2023,” said Ahmadov.
