The volume of natural gas export from Azerbaijan to Turkey totaled over 2.06 billion cubic meters from January through February 2021, Trend reports citing the statistical report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the SCC, in total terms, the value of export of Azerbaijani gas to Turkey in the first 2 months of 2021 topped $180 million.
“During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported more than 3.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 2.5 times more compared to the same period of last year. The volume of exported natural gas totaled over $357.6 million. At the same time, Turkey's share in the export of Azerbaijani gas amounted to 62 percent,” the report reads.
In 2020, Azerbaijan exported more than 12.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 0.8 percent less compared to 2019. During the reporting year, the volume of exported natural gas amounted to about $2.19 billion in total terms, an increase of 7.2 percent compared to 2019.
The trade turnover between Turkey and Azerbaijan in 2020 increased by $187.2 million compared to 2019, topping $2.22 billion. At the same time, Turkey's exports to Azerbaijan amounted to over $1.85 billion, and imports from Azerbaijan - $366 million.
