Volumes of Turkmen gas exports to China revealed

Turkmenistan exported more than 2,000 billion cubic meters of gas to China, taking first place in supplies in January 2021, Trend reports with reference to "CIS.Today" information portal.

A total of 4.7 billion cubic meters of gas were delivered to China in January 2021. So, in addition to Turkmenistan, gas was supplied to China from Russia-916 million cubic meters, Myanmar — 357 million, Kazakhstan — 319 million and Uzbekistan — 307 million.

Turkmenistan received $187 per 1,000 cubic meters for its gas, Kazakhstan - $ 162, Uzbekistan - $ 151, Myanmar - $ 352 per 1,000 cubic meters. China buys the cheapest gas from Russia— up to $ 118.5 per 1,000 cubic meters.

Turkmenistan and China cooperate in a number of areas. In particular, this is cooperation in the energy sector.

As reported, a new field in Bagtyyarlyk contractual PSA territory is being put into operation in the country. The exploration and development of this field are carried out by the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

CNPC signed the Bagtyyarlyk Production Sharing Agreement with Turkmenistan in 2007 and began to purchase natural fuel in Central Asia since 2009, after the launch of a gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China through the territories of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
