Solar panel station put into operation in Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province

A solar panel station has been put into operation in Iran's Razavi Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran), an official of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization of Iran, Ali Shabnavard said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.

Shabnavard stressed that this station was installed on 1.5 hectares of land with the investments of private sector.

The official added that the launch of the station will prevent the spread of 1,370 tons of pollutants into the environment per year, as well as reduce the consumption of 437 cubic meters of water per year.

"In addition, 564,000 cubic meters of natural gas per year will be saved through the operation of this station," he said.

Shabnavard noted that 150 billion rials (about $3.57 million) has been spent on the station and five people has been employed.

As reported, the potential of alternative renewable energy power plants in Iran's Razavi Khorasan Province is 58.5 megawatt-hours. Its 19.19 megawatt-hours accounted for solar panel stations.
