Azerbaijani hydroelectric power plants increase electricity production

The Azerbaijani hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) produced 227.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from January through March 2021, which is by 5.3 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the report of the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

In general, the Azerbaijani thermal power plants generated 6.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity during the reporting period.

At the same time, 6.03 billion kilowatt-hours were generated by thermal power plants, which is by 0.2 percent less than from January through March 2020.

During the reporting period, wind power plants in Azerbaijan produced 21.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is by 12 percent less than from January through March 2020.

Solar power plants generated 8.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in Azerbaijan during the reporting period.
