China National Oil and Gas Corporation (CNPC) has become the biggest sponsor of the International Forum on Attracting Investment in Oil, Gas Industry of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Nebit-Gaz electronic newspaper.
The forum will be held from May 12 through May 13 in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan).
Overall, the corporation will conduct full-scale research, development and production of natural gas in the Bagtyyarlyk contract territory for 35 years, as well as supply natural gas to China via the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline.
CNPC has been implementing projects in Turkmenistan since 2002, in particular, the work consists of investments in the oil and gas industry and the provision of engineering and technical services in oil and gas fields.
Since 2007, the company has been carrying out construction work on the contractual territory of Bagtyyarlyk based on a production sharing agreement, and in 2009 the holding company commissioned the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline.
In 2021, the volume of Turkmen natural gas supplied to China annually, according to plans, can be increased to 65 billion cubic meters. In 2019, according to official data of the Turkmen side, it was planned to export 40 billion cubic meters to China.
CNPC 's investments are also directed to the development of culture, medical services, and education in Turkmenistan. special attention is paid to assistance to persons with disabilities.
