Chinese companies interested in co-op with Uzbekistan's power industry

Chinese companies discussed the potential for bilateral cooperation in the electric power industry, taking into account the sufficient purchasing power of the population of Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing (China).

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing together with the Ministry of Commerce of China organized an online business forum for the discussion of the prospects and specific projects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in the electrical industry.

The Uzbek side was presented by employees of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the Uzeltekhsanoat Association and the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments, while the Chinese side was presented by officials of the Ministry of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Electrical Products, as well as specialized associations and more than 80 leading manufacturers of electrical and household appliances and appliances, including GREE, TCL, HAIER, LENOVO, MEDIA, TP-Link, ZTE Corporation, CAMCE, Jack Sewing Machine and others.

The parties noted the significant potential for bilateral cooperation in the electric power industry, taking into account the sufficient purchasing power of the population of Uzbekistan, the availability of raw materials, the necessary infrastructure and communications, as well as a convenient geographical location, relatively low electricity costs.

The forum participants were provided with detailed information about the measures taken by Uzbekistan to create favorable conditions for foreign investors and their protection, promising investment projects proposed for implementation in the regions and industries of the country, the possibilities of expanding trade turnover between the two countries.

In addition, the potential of the electrical industry of Uzbekistan, information on customs and tax benefits provided to manufacturing enterprises, promising projects for organizing the production of solar panels, transformers, electric motors, computer and office equipment, semiconductor products, sewing machines were presented in detail at the forum.
