Iran's Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company plans to increase production

The Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company in the Petrochemical Economic Special Zone in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) intends to increase production to the maximum in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022), Production Manager of the company Amin Malikzadeh said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Malekzadeh stressed that the company produced 107,000 tons of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through April 20, 2021) for this purpose.

He added that 80 percent of the total production capacity was used in the first month.

The manager noted that the company recorded a significant increase in production over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021). Thus, more than 1.1 million tons of products were produced during last year.

The company launched its activity in 1998 and it operates in Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in Khuzestan Province on an area covering 34 hectares. The Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company produces PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) products.

The company produces more than 1.6 million tons of products a year, and the value of the company's annual production is estimated at more than $800 million. The company operates under the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry Company of Iran.
