BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

About 100,000 automobiles have been provided with dual fuel free of charge since the implementation of the plan to provide various vehicles with dual fuel (gasoline and gas) in Iran (from May 24, 2020 through May 8, 2021), Manager for the CNG plan of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), Hossein Bagheri told Shana news agency, Trend reports.

Bagheri stressed that so far, more than 306,000 automobiles have been registered on the plan for use of dual fuel. Of these, 132,000 automobiles were determined to be in accordance with the plan.

The manager added that out of 132,000 automobiles, 16,400 are in the queue, and the owners of 15,500 automobiles choose the right workshop for themselves.

“In addition, 200,000 private cars including online taxis and cars of taxi services agencies have been registered for dual fuel supply,” he said.

On Nov. 15, 2019, the price of gasoline sold on quota increased from 10,000 rials (23 cents) to 15,000 rials (35 cents) and the price of gasoline sold free from the quota increased to 30,000 rials (71 cents) in Iran. About 1.46 million cars will be provided with dual fuel (gasoline and gas) in the first stage of dual fuel supply in Iran. Around 65 trillion rials (about $ 1.54 billion) funds have been allocated to these operations. By providing the cars with dual fuel, 12 million liters of gasoline per day will be saved. The plan to provide cars with free dual fuel will be implemented within 14 months.
