Currently, the Black Sea Oil Terminal (Kulevi) of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR is working on the project to handle bitumen products, Trend reports with reference to the terminal’s website.
“The construction works are to be completed in the near future.
Although the terminal was initially designed for transshipment of crude oil, fuel oil and gas oil, expansion projects implemented by the company management enabled the terminal to expand the transshipped products range to the hydrocarbon and petrochemical products like gasoline, aviation kerosene, methanol, naphtha, p-xylene, benzene, liquid pyrolysis resin, LPG and other products,” reads a message on the terminal’s website.
In order to comply market regional and global requirement and with the requirement of the contractual terms it has been decided to start to increase the terminals capacities. So, was projected and commenced to construct additional 11 tanks -2x20000m3, 2x10000 m3, 2x5000m3, 2x3000m3, 3x2000m3 to handle more products as per clients’ order. This is given to us and the clients to be able to transship more products that is available at the regional resource market in smaller volumes.
The terminal in the Kulevi port was put into operation in May 2008, and the transshipment of oil products was launched in June.
