SOCAR Ukraine resumes premium fuel sales

Ukrainian subsidiary of the Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has resumed the sale of premium fuel, namely, NANO 95, Diesel Nano Extro, Trend reports with reference to Ukrainian media.

SOCAR Energy Ukraine earlier suspended the sale of above products after the decision of Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers dated May 14 to introduce the maximum level of trade mark-up to the average price of diesel fuel (UAH 7 / liter) and gasoline (UAH 5 / liter).

The company also adjusted prices for basic fuels on May 15, taking into account the restrictions.

“A number of companies suspended the sale of premium fuel last weekend. Ukrainian economy ministry said on May 16 that the decision doesn’t apply to this type of fuels. SOCAR and KLO have resumed the sale of premium fuel,” says Ukrainian media.

Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008.

The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions. as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.

The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012.
