By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

Iran will start transporting 300,000 barrels of crude oil daily through the first phase of the Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline in the coming days, Executive Director of Iran’s Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Touraj Dehghani said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

The director stressed that it will be possible to transport up to 330,000 barrels of crude oil daily with the launch of the 1st phase.

"Currently, work is carried out within 24 hours in connection with the launch of the first phase of the Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline. So, pumping station No. 2, which is important for the first phase, will be launched in the next few days. At present, there is 90 percent progress in physical work at this pumping station," he added.

Dehghani noted that 4 electric pumps have been installed in the pumping station No. 2.

The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.

It is planned to install 6 submarine pipelines, crude oil metering systems and 3 floating systems (SPM) at the Jask oil terminal in Iran. At the first stage, 1 metering system, two 36-inch pipelines and one floating system will be put into operation for the extraordinary operation of this terminal.
