Some 12 prequalification participants were invited to submit their proposals for the 100 MW Wind Power Project in Karakalpakstan, Trend reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Energy Uzbekistan.

According to the information, Uzbekistan is implementing a strategy to deploy up to 3 GW of wind power capacity by 2030 in order to meet the growing demand for electricity and achieve the sustainable development goals defined at the national level.

As part of this initiative, the government of the country launched the Program for the Development of Wind Power Projects with a capacity of up to 1 GW in the framework of a public-private partnership with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
