Georgian's Manganese company consumes the most electricity, which has amounted to 491.4 million kilowatt hours in 5 months 2021, Trend reports via the Electricity System Commercial Operator (ESCO).
Georgian Manganese’s consumption totaled 8.8 percent of Georgia's total consumption during this period.
Most of the private companies in Georgia receive electricity from Telasi or Energo-Pro Georgia, but over 20 large companies have the status of "direct customers" and they receive electricity by bypassing Telasi or Energo-Pro Georgia.
Other metallurgical plants, like Georgian Manganese, were added to the list of largest consumers. The list also includes companies engaged in the production of cryptocurrencies.
1. Georgian Manganese / Zestaponi Ferroalloy Plant - 491.4 million kWh;
2. BFDC (Bitfury Georgia) - 159.5 million kWh;
3. Rustavi Azot - 109.7 million kWh;
4. Rustavi Steel - 75.5 million kWh;
5. Georgian Water and Power - 73.9 million kWh;
6. HeidelbergCement Georgia - 72.3 million kWh;
7. ChiaturManganum Georgia - 59.2 million kWh;
8. GTM Group - 45.9 million kWh;
9. GeosSteel - 39.9 million kWh;
10. RMG Cooper - 31.1 million kWh;
Total volume of the consumed electricity in the first 5 months of 2021 has amounted to 5.58 billion kilowatt-hours, which is 7.4 percent more compared to 2020.
