Volume of gas consumption in Iran revealed

About 572 million cubic meters of natural gas were consumed in Iran on the first day of this summer on June 22, Caretaker of the Dispatching Department of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mohammad Reza Joulaei told Shana news agency, Trend reports.

Joulaei said that gas consumption in Iran was about the same volume on the same day last year.

The official added that gas consumption in residential, commercial and small industrial facilities amounted to 192 million cubic meters over the mentioned day. This is an increase of 22 million cubic meters, compared to the same day last year.

“In addition, large-scale industry consumed 142 million cubic meters of gas yesterday, while power plants – 238 million cubic meters,” he said.

Joulaei noted that 652 million cubic meters of gas was injected into Iran's gas network yesterday. This shows an increase of 22 million cubic meters, compared to the same day last year.

Iran reportedly extracts more than 1 billion cubic meters of gas a day.
