Iran's MOGPC begins construction of flare gas collecting facility

Iran's Marun Oil and Gas Production Company (MOGPC) will begin construction of the second flare gas collecting facilitywithin a maximum of next 10 days, the Executive Director for MOGPC Hamid Kavian said, Trend reports citing the National Iranian South Oil Company’s website.

The facility will serve to collect gas from the 'Marun 3' gas field.

Kavian emphasized that construction work is currently underway in the first facility to collect flare gas from the field.

“In addition, a facility to collect flare gas from the 'Marun 6' gas field will also be launched,” he added.

The director noted that thus, the company will collect a total of 45 million cubic feet (about 1.27 million cubic meters) of flare gas daily through two facilities.

Reportedly, daily 22 million cubic meters of flare gas are collected in the territories of Marun Oil and Gas Production Company.

The Marun Oil and Gas Production Company, which operates under the auspices of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), extracts oil from 404 oil wells. The company's daily oil extraction is 562,000 barrels.

About 360,000 barrels of it is transported to the Esfahan Oil Refining Company, and the rest (202,000 barrels) to the Kharg Island.

The company also extracts 570 million cubic feet (about 16.1 million cubic meters) of gas, 25,000 barrels of liquefied gas and 7,000 barrels of gas condensate per day.
