Since the beginning of 2021, Uzbekneftegaz JSC has fully completed 3D seismic surveys at the Shurtan field and adjacent territories on an area of 620 square meters, Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
According to the information, a working group has been created to carry out 3D seismic exploration aimed at identifying new promising sites on the territory of the Shurtan gas condensate field located in the Kashkadarya region.
To carry out the 3D seismic work, new seismic equipment from INOVA (US) was used. Also, more than 400 seismic specialists and more than 50 units of special equipment were involved.
Based on the results of 3D seismic exploration, Uzbekneftegaz is conducting digital geological modeling using the latest servers, modern computer technologies and advanced software.
As a result, new prospects for all fields on the territory will be assessed, especially the Shurtan field, new layers saturated with natural gas will be identified, areas that are promising for oil and gas will be identified, and points for drilling new wells will be identified.
The specialists of Uzbekneftegaz JSC are focused on the effective implementation of all planned forecast indicators, increasing oil and gas reserves on an industrial scale and making a worthy contribution to strengthening the hydrocarbon resource base of the Republic.
JSC Uzbekneftegaz continues to carry out geological exploration aimed at exploring hydrocarbon reserves and discovering new oil and gas fields in promising areas of the country, including Ustyurt, Gazli, Mubarek and Shurtan.
