Kazakhstan’s Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies has initiated an administrative case against KazTransGas Aimak JSC, Trend reports citing the Committee.
This is due to the fact that the Committee received appeals from individuals and legal entities, on the basis of which an unscheduled check was carried out to look into prices for retail sales of commercial gas to consumers of the Kyzylorda region.
As a result of the audit, a violation of the requirements of the Entrepreneurial Code of Kazakhstan was revealed.
KazTransGas Aimak JSC received an unjustified income in the amount of 885.06 million tenge ($2.09 million) as a result of unjustified excess of the maximum price.
Thus, the Committee initiated administrative proceedings against KazTransGas Aimak JSC in accordance with Code of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses and a prescription was made to fulfill the obligations provided for by the Entrepreneurial Code with the requirement to return the unreasonably received income in the amount of 885.06 million tenge ($2.09 million) directly to consumers or by lowering the marginal price level.
At the same time, KazTransGas Aimak JSC, in accordance with the current legislation, has the right to appeal the response measures taken by the Committee.
