BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug.12

By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

Procurement is nearing completion and construction activities are near completion for the Absheron URF project in Azerbaijan, which includes engineering, procurement, construction and installation of pipelines and umbilical systems in the Caspian Sea, Trend reports with reference to Italian Saipem company, which is engaged in this project.

The jacket pin piles installation works were completed during the first quarter of 2021, while the umbilical installation is scheduled for the second half of the year, said the company.

For Bosshelf, the Absheron T&I project, which involves the installation of jackets and platforms, will be implemented during this year and until the first part of 2022, according to Saipem.

In consortium with Bos-shelf/Star Gulf Saipem was awarded by Total E&P Absheron BV the Absheron Early Production Scheme Project, consisting of Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Fabrication, Installation and Pre-commissioning of an Umbilical Riser and Flowline Package.

In October 2018, Saipem was awarded a contract for the development of Azerbaijan’s Absheron gas field.

Total awarded a SURF (subsea, umbilical, riser and flowline) contract to the consortium between Saipem’s subsidiary, Saipem Contracting Netherlands BV, Boshelf LLC and STAR GULF FZCO, for the development of the Absheron field.

The scope of work includes engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore installation, assistance to commissioning and to performance testing of a 12” single production flowline and its Flowline End Termination structure (FLET), and of a main umbilical, both being approximately 34 km in length.
