The CEO of Kermanshah Regional Water Company announced the supply of drinking water for Kermanshah city through Gavoshan dam.
Based on a long-term plan, over 63 million cubic meters equivalent to 2,000 liters per second of drinking water in Kermanshah will be supplied by Gavoshan dam annually, Mohammadreza Shahlaie said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Shahlaei added that the water stored in Gavoshan Dam will meet the needs of Kermanshah in case of drought for up to three years.
He went on to add that the Kermanshah Water and Sewerage Company and the University of Medical Sciences of the province test the quality of water, two times to transfer a quality drinking water to subscribers.
According to statistics, $83 million of credit has been allocated for the completion of the Kermanshah water treatment plant.
Kermanshah province with a population of 2 million has 540,000 water subscribers, with the per capita consumption of drinking water of 250 liters per day.
